Background

Launched in April 1999, Heritage Enterprise (H.E.) was created based on a Building Preservation Charity. Formed to identify, rescue, repair, restore and rehabilitate historic or architecturally significant buildings H.E. endeavors to extend the life of these assets through adaptive re-use. Additionally H.E. provides a professional consultancy service for architects, engineers or other professionals working in the field of heritage management adhering to International Charters and Conventions.

Mission

Disseminating and encouraging 'best practice' in heritage management and conservation through restoration and rehabilitation projects, education, research and training.

Objectives

Heritage Enterprise has sound professional administrative support. In the past years Heritage Enterprise was formulated as a private company according to the Companies Act 1995 without veering from the objectives of a Building Preservation Trust. The Heritage Enterprise objectives are:

To preserve and conserve heritage assets that are of cultural and natural value through purchase, acquisition, transfer, exchange, or otherwise;

To provide consultancy and professional assistance in the field of conservation, heritage management, site management and museology;

To provide training for students, the general public or professionals about heritage management, conservation, curatorial matters and museology;

To carry out research, interpret and publish documentation about movable and immovable heritage;

To provide tourist information that promotes heritage assets through specific displays, site interpretation, tours, lectures and publications;

To provide specialized and professional guided tours, lectures, displays, site interpretation, publications, exhibitions, or activities for tourists, students and the general public.
